No, but it helps. Under 10K followers, the middle month was $3,475; over 100K, $22,865. Yet a 3K account made $12,350 and a 143K account made $100.

Creators price the brand's rights on top of the video: ad usage, whitelisting, exclusivity. A gifted product for permanent rights is the offer they're learning to refuse.

@shopwithlyss_'s UGC rate card, 11.9K followers on TikTok: $150–200 a video to start, +30% if the brand runs it as an ad, 1.5× for raw footage, a flat $300 for whitelisting.

"A $42 product is nice, but that's not going to pay my bills."
Marketplaces pay least. Brands that come to you pay more. And UGC income doesn't need an audience: most of it is videos the creator never posts.

Late. Net 30 to net 120, and one creator's rule: assume 10 days late and chase on a schedule.

I made $133,306 in the month of September.
Not me going from $61 to $575 in a week
I made $11,569 for the month of September, all from creating content.
So the first month of me quitting my job, I made $10,000 on TikTok alone.
The brand deals. I made $84,300. This is insane.
I'm about to film a brand deal that I'm getting paid $14,000 for.
I stream for 75 hours across 27 days, which is about $19 an hour
the amount was $406.31. So that was my earnings for September.
Brand work. Oh, my. I made $13,980 this month.
I made $1,037.50 in YouTube ad revenue. And then I also made $643 on Stripe.
Facebook pays you for views. $2,351, good month.
I earned $300 from YouTube last month, around 2000 yuan
For tax purposes, there's no point in taking a deal that's under $1,000.
For the month of September I contracted 32 paid gigs for a total of $7,627.
In six months I went from making zero dollars to $30,000 a freaking month.
Top one got about half a million views, the bottom one got over a million views, and I made $15.
in September I made $1,113.31.

Among 55 US creators who stated a month's total in videos posted in October 2026, the median was about $10,000 and the middle half earned $1,680 to $18,693. Self-reported and skewed high: creators post income videos after good months.
Mostly brands. Across 45 US creators who itemized a month, brand deals and UGC were 50% of stated dollars, platform payouts 25% (mostly YouTube and Facebook), shopping commissions such as Amazon, LTK and TikTok Shop 16%, and the creator's own products 5%.
Not in the US in October 2026, according to the creators themselves. One reported $0 from Instagram on a video with over a billion views; others said Instagram pays nothing directly and that their platform money comes from Facebook and YouTube. Meta's bonus programs are invitation-only.
Very little. Creators reported between about $0.001 and $0.35 per 1,000 views, or $1 to $350 per million. One creator earned about $15 on 12.6 million views; another estimated $300 to $400 per million. Views from paid ads don't count toward Creator Rewards.
Long-form YouTube paid creators about $2.50 to $6 per 1,000 views in October 2026 reports, roughly 20 times what the same creators earned per view on TikTok. YouTube Shorts paid about $0.03 to $0.36 per 1,000 views.
Rates US creators stated: about $100 per video near 5,000 followers, $550 for a first UGC deal under 900 followers, $1,000 to $15,000 per deal from about 60,000 to 200,000 followers, and $14,000 for one video at about 646,000 followers. Usage rights, whitelisting and exclusivity are priced on top.
$150 to $875 per video, with about 30% added for paid ad usage, a flat fee for whitelisting, and 1.5 times the base rate for raw footage. Jobs through UGC marketplaces paid $117 to $700 each; brands that came to the creator paid more. One creator made over $20,000 in three months from UGC, mostly videos never posted on her own account.
No, but it helps. US creators with over 100,000 followers had a median month of about $22,865, against $3,475 under 10,000. Still, 108 of the 162 creators with a known follower count had under 100,000, a UGC creator with about 3,000 followers grossed $12,350 in a month, and one with 4,400 followers was paid $875 for a 30-second video, because brands pay for videos they can run as ads.
Often 30 to 120 days after the work. Creators described net 90 plus net 30 terms through managers, one signed $50,200 of brand deals in September with $30,200 received so far, and one tells creators to assume payment arrives about 10 days late and follow up on a schedule.
We ran 30 creator-pay searches on TikTok, Instagram and YouTube and kept the videos posted in October 2026: TikToks with 20,000+ views, Reels with 100+ likes, YouTube videos and Shorts with 2,000+ views. Each was transcribed and coded for stated earnings, income sources, who paid, rates and niche, using only what the creator said. 79 TikTok, 50 Instagram and 37 YouTube creators were talking about their own pay or rates; side-hustle pitches and platform ads were left out. Every figure is self-reported and unverified, and creators post after good months, so totals skew high. Many October 2026 videos report the month before. Instagram search runs through Google, so its sample leans to bigger accounts.
US only. TikTok videos carry the creator's country. YouTube channels list one. Instagram doesn't, so we kept Instagram creators whose bio, text or rates put them in the US, or who quoted US dollars with no sign of another country, and dropped the rest (47 creators quoting rupees, pounds, euros, or based in Canada, the UK or elsewhere).
